Installed Auxilliary gauges not funtioning at expected (help) - never working on a volvo again 200 1989

Hi Everyone.

I recently installed two auxilliary gauges in my 111K 1989 240DL. The gauges were a voltmeter and 5 bar oil pressure. Both aren't functioning quite as I expected.

1) 5 Bar Oil Pressure. My gauge goes to 4 bar and doesn't move much. It does drop a very small amount as the RPMs drop, but the drop isn't as much as I expected. Do I just have awesome oil pressure (good) or is there something suspicious about that reading (bad).

2) The volt meter doesn't go above the 10v orange area no matter how high the RPMs go. I checked the voltage at the battery (12V), voltage at the gauge connector (12v) and used a variable voltage generator from where I work to introduce voltage across the meter and the indicator hand moved. It didn't seem to track conistently (in other words the hand seemed to stick until around 12v and then popped up to around the 12v area). So my questions are: 1) Is 12v at the battery appropriate for my car? 2) at 12v should the indicator hand be in the black? 3) Does it seem the gauge might be in question? My experience with other volt gauges in my Audi and Fiat is they jump to position almost immediately.

The not working on a Volvo again is a little tongue in cheek. All the other cars I've worked on I've been able to snake a wire here or flex something enough so you could work on it without taking it fully apart. On my volvo everthing was so tight it was almost an hermetic seal. If you wanted to work behind something you had to take it off. I've never really worked on a car so well made. I was quite impressed with my little brick!!

Oh.. one other quick question, I'd love to get a spoiler for the trunk lid. Something tasteful, not like an airplane wing. I'd also like it to be a true spoiler, not just a deck lip. Does anyone know who might make such an item, or to save me lots of measuring what other car might donate a spoiler that would look good on the rear of my brick?

Thanks!!
