Regarding the "T' 140-160

Art, regarding the "T",

In FI 240s, I turn the key to II, and for a short period I hear the fuel system pressurizing. But then the sound seems to stop. Are the pumps still running and I haven't heard them or do they shut off when system pressure is reached?

If system back pressure stops the pump or doesn't damage the pump, then a "T" might not be needed. (I don't think mechanical fuel pumps keep pumping and building up pressure once the carb reservoir is full.)

Also, vapor lock is a problem with carbs. Wondering if the fuel system pressurizing with a low pressure electric pump before the engine is started, would fight vapor lock.
