240 Redneck bug catcher 200 1982

Just another goofy...but good...addition to my blue collar Volvo. Once every year, I do a major maintenance standown on the steed. This includes removing the radiator and digging out a year's worth of compacted insect carcasses out from between the radiator cooling fins. After the usual...and usually unsuccessful water jet from the garden hose, I end up using a dental pick to dig out the stubborn ones. This year, however, I decided to make a "Redneck" bug catcher. I took a wire shelf rack out of some junked upright freezer and cut it down to the right size to fit between the grille and the radiator. I took some standard window screen material and zip-tied the screen to the frame. I put an old piece of garden hose across the top ( to dampen vibration and give the sheet metal screws something to "bite" into). I then zip tied the bottom of the "bug grille" to the cross member that the radiator rests on. There were several holes already tapped that lined up perfectly for me to use the zip ties to anchor the bottom. The pictures in my photobucket have more details - there are two pictures in the series. Although it's pretty redneck-ish, it seems pretty sound. I really hate fishing out compressed bugs from my radiator. If you have any ideas how to make it better, share them here.
