'93 244 M47 "Steering Rack Issues' 200

BBrs:

Today while making a few turns the steering seemed to vibrate and was getting tight. I pulled over and guessed that I must be low on PS fluid which I usually check when I change oil/fliter on a 3K basis. The PS fluid was very low and I noticed a leak from the belly pan not the hoses to the PS Pump and RES.

Conclusion: My steering rack has a failer gasket?

I walked to a Chevy dealer and bought one quart of PS fluid to put them in profitability at $10.80/quart and filled the REs and drove home. It is leaking and I have now gone through the quart.

My questions are:

1/ How much should I pay for a reman steering rack and what is the best brand and place to get one.

2/ How difficult is this job? How long should it take? Do I need to get the front end set up at a ahop after the change out?

Thanks for your help

Al
