Bilstein strut inserts w/ ABS 200 1992

Jorrel had said that he could not get the strut inserts to fit into his ABS equipped car on one side, and was going to attempt some modification to try to make it work. I was very interested, because I might be in the same boat. After a little research, found that you are supposed to install a spacer (Volvo OE# 1229423-7) underneath the strut insert housing (above the ball joint) with these inserts, and looking at the picture, I can see how this might allow the insert to drop down a little lower.
Anybody installed these?
