Yes, Dan, I'm hyper-aware of the 92/93 ABS versions because I was just today corresponding with another unlucky brick owner who got an ABS rear axle stuck into his earlier (90) car. The shop doesn't want to do it over or change the tone ring; he's trying to mate up a late speedo, but it doesn't turn. The orig K9800 shows 100mph when he's in a school zone, and he's worried the 4x VSS signal to the ECU is going to disturb the fuel map.

For 91 ABS cars there was a converter module he'd love to have. And I'd love to be able to tell him why his 93 speedometer won't play, but I don't have one to scrutinize.

I happened on this thread, and looked in to see if it was the same person:

Why are there different speedometers on volvo? K9800 K38200 K40168 I replaced a K38200 on my 245dl with a K9800, how will this effect accurate reading?

Without the knowledge this was an 88, it looks to me like it was a 92/93 when he states he replaced a K38200 with a K9800. Huh?? Just figure he got mixed up.

The K number is the number of counts received from the differential sensor per mile traveled.
