Art,

You have to reverse 2 wires on the L connector that plugs into the speedo for a late speedometer to work with the 1990. It takes just a few minutes and a small screw driver to do. Once thats done it should work fine.

Here's the roadmap to see this in the Bentley. Get out your magnifying glass. Page 390-51 the 1990 diagram. Location E1 the impulse wheel "229" signal side(has the little square wave bump) goes to connector 233/2(the "L connector") Gnd side goes to 233/1.

Skip over to 390-63 Location E2 signal side goes to 233/1 and GND side goes to 233/2.
