Removed alternator and found a strange wire. 200 1988

Hey guys. I had to completely remove my alternator on this 88 DL and when I went to put it back on I saw the two main wires from the alternator and another heavier blue wire with the 2" red sleeve. I don't remember removing this particular wire intentionally. My guess is this is a ground wire that came loose when I unbolted the long pivot bolt to remove the alternator. Is this right? I need feedback pretty quick on this one. I haven't done this enough to remember. Is there a picture or diagram showing this wire? Thanks for any help.
