8 volt in a six volt car 444-544

The new positive cable to the starter that I put in is a 4 gauge. The cable that was there before was a 6. The ground cable was fatter than 4. I'm not sure of it's exact gauge, though. I hadn't considered that the 6 volt system would need such big cables. Thanks for the advice. I'll look for a GOOD 6 volt battery to put in there, too. That cubby hole they provide for the battery probably limits the choices because of the size considerations.
