As Euroman points out, use the valve cover nuts. But leave the gasket out of the discussion. It's under the cover. Clips will be over.

For the '89, really the only place you need the single wire clip would be for the #4 wire and it is best placed under the nut second from the rear on the lower edge of the cover.

For the "comb", as it were, use the nut closest to the oil cap on the upper edge.

The other comb should be somewhere over the cover, wherever the wires begin to diverge. It just hangs there.

And the little maltese cross looking loom is about 6 or 8 inches from the distributor.
