Ordered Inner Tie Rod from Dealer--Got Meyle part in Volvo bag 200 1983

Hi all,

I had some play in the steering on our 1983 244Ti, tracked it down to the inner tie/steering rod. I ordered PN 3530167 from our local dealer; part was delivered in a Volvo bag with a factory label, so I didn't give it much thought.

When I installed the rod a few days later, I noted that "MEYLE" was stamped into one of the flats on the rod. It kind of surprised me, as in my experience Volvo replacement steering parts were always TRW. The Meyle part seemed to fit OK, but is this something I should keep an eye on? I figure the Volvo warraty is 12 months, so if there's a problem I should see it by then, right?

BTW, when replacing the inner tie/steering rod on a ZF rack, be sure to replace the locking washer (between the inner rod end and the rack body).
