hood latch and minor accident 700 1988

Hi Guys,......I had a minor accident and barely rear ended a brainless women who came to a complete stop in the middle lane of a highway with out traffic being stopped. thank goodness it was 15 - 20mph rush hour crawl.

I tapped her bumper after skiding on the wet road surface .....she had no damage ....no airbag deployment ....no injuries etc.

My 88 740 gle wagon on the other hand had minor damage and I can't open the hood.

The hood latch releases only one side of the hood.

Hood not bent or visably out of alignment but due to delicate front grill stuff somthing is keeping it from opening .......Any suggestions as to how to get hood open so I can check for other damages and realign fix whatever is keeping hood latch from fully releasing.

Thanks much

Mark 1988 740 5 spd gle wagon ... just topped 175k on odometer (not sure it's orig odometer though)
