In-tank pump - Fuel return hose - fitting advice please! 200

Hi all,

I've just rebuilt my in-tank pump and sender. The problem I'm faced with is the nylon inner return hose, and fitting it to the barbed connector on the sender housing. The remaining hose is too short because I had to snip the end off to remove the sender.

There's a very useful description of the issue on this site: http://cleanflametrap.com/transferPump.htm

However, I'm not clear what the actual suggested solution means... it says to leave the nylon inner on the the sender, and over-splice it with standard 5/16 FI hose. That sounds groovy... but does he mean to replace the entire return hose, or just patch it in somehow?

Thanks in advance,
Tim
