Motor swap 200

Have a rusty old 1994 940,with excellent engine and automatic transmission 150km.I have an opportunity to pick up an immaculate 1988 240DL,the auto itself is extremely clean ,the odometer is showing 240km, however to me it appears there may be an engine problem.No power,oh she will move you around but not like it should be able to do.I was going to buy older model and do engine swap from newer model.What are the problems that I may incur?
