Transmission swap: Use the flex plate that is associated with the replacement transmission? 900

1992 740 185K Normally aspirated

Replacing the transmission. I am installing a low mileage AW71L out of a 1990 GLE that had the B234 engine. The feedback on this transmission exchange was mixed but it is all I have available at the current time.

I kept the flex plate that was on the B234 engine. I am planning on putting it on this car after I replace the rear main seal. It would seem like a good idea to keep the components together, but it is just a hunch.

Can anyone second the motion or post an objection?

Thanks,
Randy
