No Start 200

I did adjust the switch. The car started once and now it will not start. I noticed that when I have the switch turned on and I move the gear shifter as far forwrd as it will go, which is a centimeter beyond reverse, there is a clicking sound every time I push it to this point. Does this sound like there is a short somewhere? Also there were two small black wires attached to a connector which I assume is a ground that I attached to one of the screws that hold the backup swithc in place.
