Yazaki cluster 1986 v. 1987 - Voltmeter problem 700 1986

Hi again Dan,

OK on fixing that pesky piggyback pos wire at the battery. The SOB was hard
to keep secure and I had to add bronze lockwashers.

I have the Greenbook for the 89 740 here.
The voltmeter shares the source for the Speedo pin#4, The Tach and fuel guages,
The temp guage, and most of the idiot lights.
The rheostat supplies only the dash lights, and the service idiot light.

I'd get a voltmeter and see what voltage you read at the 4 pin speedo connector
pin 4 is + and pin 3 is -
Maybe you have a lossy or missing ground somewhere.

Check that and post back.

Meanwhile there's a website with parts of the 740 greenbook Wiring diagram.
Essential for troubleshooting!
I'll try to find it.... Try the search engine here... "blarf"
I'll post back if I find it.

Bill
