So, with all the leaks I've had over the time I've owned my 245, this one is the weirdest.
This is what I've done:
Replaced the front seals, the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, put on the plug retainer, new breather box (+ O ring), regularly clean the flame trap and oil cap gasket.
The issue:
I parked the car and a day later there was a light brown (same color as the tan interior) gassy smelling substance under it. Initially I thought it was under the drivers side, but it turned out to be under the passenger side.
It appears to be coming off of the passenger rear side of the engine, potentially above where that rear spark plug is located. I thought it could be the head gasket, but the oil isn't showing signs of water in the oil.
There is also another issue, in that the substance has an overwhelming smell of gas AND the spots under the car seem to be more gas like in appearance (they are shiny like gas, not dark like oil).
Maybe it's a bad plug (the car doesn't run rough or anything), but I'm hoping it's a bad cam cover gasket.
As I understand it, when you replace bad gaskets the newly built up pressure of the engine seeks the weakest link. And I think if it is the bad issue (the gasket being blown/bad/worn), it seemingly would help explain the gas issue in the smell of the stain on the ground.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
