Sudden onset of whining in front right wheel? 200 1988

1988 244 DL

The last couple of time I have driven I have been hearing a whine in, what my best guess is, the front right wheel.

I do not hear the sound when sitting still and revving the engine.

The sound increases (like it is winding up) with speed but dies down at 40 mph (I haven't been over 40 yet).

I have tried coasting in and out of gear but do not notice and change in the sound.

In the last 6 months I tightened the right front wheel bearings a notch and replaced the grease.

At last check, also 6 months ago, the brake pads were not near worn out.

My experience with a seized brake caliper is that it make a dragging sound not a whine.

The right tire is inflated the same as the left.

I see no loose suspension connections.

The only outside factor is that temps have dropped below 30 degrees.

Do you have any suggestions?
