You can be injured severely by battery acid. Your property could be destroyed by battery acid. When you make a jury-rigged cap for your battery, you are putting you and your property at risk from battery acid.

It is better to buy a recycled battery for $20 then to risk your safety. Sometimes you make mistakes. Sometimes you have to pay for mistakes. Don’t pay for your mistakes with an injury or worse.
