Car feels sluggish, normal? 200 1980

I have never driven a wagon before, I know it's heavy, but mine feels pretty sluggish, takes a bit to get to speed, enough to where I feel uncomfortable pulling out into traffic. The P.O. just replaced the alternator, battery, rewired the ignition/alternator (8/4ga wire), did a complete tune up. He said he replaced the exhaust gaskets, I was thinking maybe a leak. Car has 152K on the dash, seems low from what a tank I've heard these are.
