1991 240 Wagon Cigarette Lighter 200 1991

Welcome back to the Brickboard, I'm not sure why Goatman offers up random rudeness, but this time it was served up on your post.

I am not making excuses for him just sorry for his behavior as it reflects on all of us. The majority of us are friendly and welcoming to newbies and returnees.

Down to the cigarette lighter business :-) I have trouble getting a number of different gadgets to work in the lighters on the Volvos. Radar detectors, GPS, cellphone chargers, etc seem to be a bad fit for the socket.

You can use a testlight to see if the socket has power, but be careful as the outer edge is grounded. If a testlight probe touches the center pole of the socket and the ground it will blow the fuse.

If you have power at the socket and nothing can connect to it I think you are looking as installing a new socket.

Randy
