how long can one drive on a bad clutch? 200 1992

So, following the alternator issues on our wagon, my sedan sits ready to take a holiday trip, except it needs a new clutch. Been putting it off because of money and time...

Drives fine one you get used to it, but gotta downshift up hills, as it slips out of the sweet spot upon elevation gain.

How long is it OK to drive on a bad clutch/worn clutch plate? Just need to make it up and over the grapevine, in the truck lane if necessary.
