Radiator Problem? 900 1995

Reservoir I was driving my 1995 940 and I started getting cold air with the heat on. When I pulled over the elec fan was on so I knew that the engine was hot. My reservoir was empty so I added coolant but it started to pour out on the side of the radiator of the battery side from a hole with a rubber ring around it. I am missing something. It is a non turbo. I know my reservoir is cracked at the seem and that is not my problem. I plugged the hole with a rag and added more coolant as it did not appear to be under pressure and I started to get heat back so I drove it home. I tried to add coolant again and the same problem. Any idea what it could be? Thanks Denis
