Starting problems 700 1991

1991 740 Turbo having issues. Here is my story....

Original problem was on start up idle was very rough. My son said that it would improve after it warmed up. I pulled and cleaned throttle body, and after I replaced it the battery was dead / would not turn over. Charged battery, had it tested, and cleaned terminals. Now it turns over (although it seems a little sluggish) but still wont start.

Stuff that may be important...
1. I did remove the electronic component on the TB itself. Did I possibly mis-align something on re-install?
2. Before the rough idle presented I had to replace the thermostat. Any heat related issues possible?

So we went from rough idle to wont start at all...now sure what to check next. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!
