Breaks up, can't give gas after 5mins 200 1989

Hubby is tinkering with a buddy's 240 and is getting tired of throwing parts at it. I appealed to his better nature and suggested NOT hitting the thing with a hammer, but to instead ask the fine folks on the brickboard for help! (He was asking the OTHER site...) So here's the deal:

1989 245. Wouldn't run at all, installed 'new' pick and pull AMM. Starts like a champ, runs awesome for the first 4 minutes or so. Revs without breakup, idles back smoothly. After about 5mins however, it starts missing and if you gas it often backfires and stalls. He thinks it seems to be starving for gas and has replaced the fuel pressure regulator and put in a new in-tank pump. The TPS has been replaced as well.

Any help would be appreciated so this multi-colored wonder gets out of my driveway, and Buttercup can go back in!
