Regina pump amperage draw; what do these numbers indicate?? 700 1992

1992 745 185K

This project may be ready to be pressed into daily service. I have no records on this car.

I read in the FAQ's the pump should draw 8.8 amps. I pulled fuse 1 and hooked my DVM in series on that circuit. I started the car and initially had a 9.45amps reading. After about 20 seconds it dropped to 9.15amps.

As an uneducated guess I would say that if a new pump draws 8.8amps and my pump is drawing 9.15amps that might mean that it is in pretty good shape and quite possibly has been replaced at some point... but of course that would only be guess on my part.

What do those numbers mean to some of you who are intimate with electrons and their flow??

Thanks,
Randy
