is there a 'rope trick' for removing the cam gear?? 700 1992

I removed the cam gear from the 'donor' head by drilling a small hole in the plastic rear cover for the timing belt, then sticking a large phillips screwdriver up against a flat part of the head and using my 'new' Snap-on 18" breaker bar. Had to place on the floor and step on it for leverage.
Now, how do I remove the bolt from the OEM cam gear that has probably been installed with an air impact gun?
I checked and an electric impact wrench will not fit unless I remove the fan, shroud and radiator.
I figure to use the Crank hold down tool (for changing the timing belt) to hold the belt and gears still, then try to remove the bolt with my breaker bar.

Any help would be great.
thanks,
el raidman
