Short Air Ram Filter type destroys AMM in no time? 900 1995

Good Day guys,

i'm a newbie in this forum. hope that i can get some comments and help from members here.

i got a 95' B230ft 940. it had 150k miles on it. i want to gain 1-2more hp through changing the original intake filter (conceal box type) to aftermarket performance filter (K&Ncone/mushroom type) but i'm not quite sure to do so yet as some saying that with that mod, it will kill the AMM in no time/slowly just because they allows more air flow than the standard type..ECU sending false signals.

Is it true?
