Heater fan issue 120-130 1967

Hi, I have a strange issue with the heater fan that I am hoping to glean some help.

When I turn on the heater fan in the low setting (knob in #1 pull position), the AMP light goes on dimly but visible if driving in dark.

When I pull the knob to #2 position, the AMP light is still on but much more fainter than if in #1 position.

And I also noticed that the engine RPM drops slightly whenever I turn on the blower, especially in the #1 position.

Any ideas? The fan blower works in both low/high speeds.

Oh, if it helps to know, the generator has been replaced with a 65-amp alternator with internal voltage regulator. The AMP light functions as it should...lights up if the key is turned on and turns off when the engine starts up.

Thanks!

-DS
