power steering belt 900

I recently put a new power steering belt on. Now the belt squeals loudly when I crank the wheel all the way over when parking the car. I popped the hood and sure enough the belt seems to slipping here. It is tightened with the specified amount of slack. Also, it didn't do this before I put the new belt on. Should I try tightening more, or is this a symptom of some other problem?
