Curious exhaust white smoke 200

Following up on my initial post.

http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/volvo/1458293/220/240/260/280/dreaded_white_smoke.html

So was able to check oil for coolant and check coolant for bubbles and oil. None found. Brought to my loacal mechanic on capitol hill to confirm my findings and he could find no evidence besides white smoke at start up of broken headgasket (trust me he would love to make $ replacing it). So i bought the Hanes manuel and this past weekend was able to find a garage and I replaced plugs, wires, distributor , air filter, changed oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air intake accordian hose off of throttle body, and flame trap. Oil was fine on way out did not have any coolant or look like milk choclate. Needless to say this did not clear up the white smoke allthough it disapates faster on start up and is not as noticable. Again car does not run hot or leak coolant (besides very small leak at water pump gasket which i found this weekend). Any thoughts on what this could be?

I also found a worn trans mount, small leak at trans pan gasket, and small leak at water pump. which i ordered parts from IPD and will install new when i am allowed to use my friends garage and tools again.

Thanks

ted
