How do you mark a question as "answered'?

Thanks Art. I've tried to use it several times and either get no response from the button or - as happened last night - the button doesn't show.

I thought the feature was gone but I noticed a few current threads flagged ANSWERED.

I like to be a good citizen here and so flagging a completed thread seems important. Although my orientation may be slightly different from yours: the flag does help me skip threads when I'm browsing/ reading in help/ answer mode.

But the bigger value is seeing the flags on threads when in search mode. Whenever I search I read the ANSWERED threads 1st. There aren't many so I usually have to read all anyway. And then the search returns individual messages rather than threads so that's another issue.

Re "opinions". I thought there was a section for that but couldn't find it last night and chose the "all" as a est 2nd.

I'm on Firefox also. But I don't think the ANSWERED worked when I looked in on IE - not sure on that though.

(Ha, I was on dial-up until a few years ago. I'm way out in the country. But we got DSL somehow and computer life is much easier. I maintain a friend's dial-up computer and I take a book with me "OK, you're getting this error let's Google that Γ minutes] .... oh, it mentions this problem let's look .... ⎖ minutes] ...").
