check engine/service light 200 1991

I am a newbie to the site, and this is my first post, so be gentle...
I've had a the service light on for a few months, with a known corroded wire connection at the speed sensor at the differential. The light would be on for 1-2 minutes, then go out for the remainder of the time the car was on. I'd always gotten the 311 code. I just ignored it.

Then last week I had a water pump replaced (likely just coincidental) and while driving a few days later, the light popped on in the middle of a trip. I checked them in socket #2, yielding 311, 221, and 231. I cleared them, and turned on the engine. Not only did the service light pop on, but the check engine light did too!

any help or ideas?
