Just want to set the record straight...

Art B comments that he's had it happen after a caliper rebuild.

If you are recalling the recent post where I complimented Rhys on his clearly written explanation of seal rebound, I was noting other brickheads often post about spongy pedal after caliper replacements. At risk is a common interpretation of "sponginess" which is not to be confused with "spongeworthiness" but involves that muscle memory from when you drove it into the garage.

But vacuum bleeding is a bit iffy even with a gob of grease around the bleeder screw threads. If you do like some folks, and prefer to force the pistons back with an open bleeder screw, the bleeding is probably going to be the difference. So far I have not been convinced this bit of prophylaxis is worth the fuss.
