My first headgasket fix. A few questions. 200 1988

That is what he means. When it is cold out, or a car isn't driven often, ambient moisture collects in the crank case in the form of water vapor. It has a tendency to congeal on the highest point in the system, aka valve cover and oil filler cap.

Roughly four years ago I was going to buy a Volvo from an uneducated seller that was asking about $200 too much for the car. He had told me that he started the car once a week and let it run for 10 minutes each week but didn't drive it (never got to a high enough oil temp to boil off the water). The inside of the oil filler cap looked like foamy Mocha, I used that fact to get the appropriate $200 deduction on the car by stating it may have a bad HG.

I know that was bad of me, but the seller was happy and I was happy.

Hope you are happy too! Drive that sucker and get it good and hot in the process a few times, then check for Mocha on the oil fill cap, it will be gone.
