'89 240 tail-light gremlins 200

Do not be afraid of that connector it has a locking tab that you gently lift up as you wiggle the connector away from the grid, once unplugged you clean the grid and then clean the contacts inside the connector. The contacts inside the connector are shaped like a bobby pin designed to squeeze over the electrical grid,it often helps to tighten up these pins as if to squeeze them back together tighter than they appear so that they grip the grid tighter when plugged back in,a dental pick or a large sewing needle is a good tool to have on hand. The tail light circuits can be one of the most frustrating areas of this car due to bad design of connectors.A 12 volt test-light is so handy in finding the blockage in electrical current travel.Loose connections and corrosion are your enemy, you must fix the connections and then seal them off from bad elements with a proper electrical grease or spray.
IE: moisture and electrolysis from dissimilar materials.
Once fixed be sure to put the inner tail lamp covers back on to protect your connections from UFOs.
