Art Benstein, heater motor help 200 1989

So I did the heater motor and airflow is now kinda wimpy. It works, which is great, but it kinda just trickles out. Points to note: pre heat hose and box thermostat are not done yet, and there was a small hole where the power wires on the blower motor go through that may/may not have been tightly sealed. But I really think the problem lies with the duct plumbing. Possible it's not entirely sealed... Another question, is how would you seal that plumbing? There were staples all rusty, on some of the connections by the vents going to the front defrost. Should those be restapled? Or sealed w/ some sort of tape.
I have a feeling the worst of the job is done already, just going back and checking connections may or may not be that difficult now.
Thanks again, Bork times three
