bosch electronic ignition in 142 problem 140-160

It is a 12 volt coil and it yes it still pretty much idles the sane with the new wiring configuration (resistor installed between ignition switch and coil). The timing is backwards from where it was with the old points distributor. It advances with a counterclockwise rotation. I'm guessing maybe I have the firing order backwards with this distributor? It seems strange that it even fires if the sequence is wrong.
