This should not happen. help!!! 200

I Bought a new key last year at the dealership. The old 1988 key Broke in my girlfriends purse. Today I went to start my car at work and bam the second key broke off in the ignition. F@*k ilco key company. The crappy part is it was the tip. I work in the toxic waste part of town, so I towed it home. What do I do next? I called one locksmith before my second job, and he sounded so bombastic almost like I pissed him off.
