1993 940 head gasket 900 1993

Dear MadDogKY,

Hope you're well. The metal coolant pipe - which runs from the back of the water pump, along the block, and then turns towards the driver's side of the engine bay - may have a pin-hole leak.

Unless the hose is greatly over-size (it should have a 5/8" internal diameter) you should be able to tighten the clamp enough, to prevent leaks. If, however, the hose has a 3/4" internal diameter, even a fully-tightened clamp may not suffice.

If, after you install the Volvo brand hoses, there's still a leak, the metal pipe needs to be inspected carefully.

Hope new, Volvo-brand hoses are the cure.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
