We used to be all Volvo, but when Volvo stopped making RWD, our family stopped buying Volvos.

When my wife turned over her '91 245 to me, I got her '97 328 BMW. We liked that car so much that when the kids started driving the 245, I got myself a '97 328 5 speed. Great cars.

Then the wife gave her 328 to one of the kids, and I got her an '04 330 BMW. She loves that 330 as much as she loved her 328. When it became clear that the '04 BMW was as reliable and economical and fun to drive as the '97s, I sold the 245 Wagon and got an '04 325 BMW wagon. We have now switched from an all-Brick family to an all-3-series BMW family. My original 5-sp 328 now has over a quarter million miles on it and looks and runs great. It is a bit harder to work on than the bricks. Tighter spaces, but without doing a formal tally. I think our '97 328s have required fewer repairs than our bricks.
