Engine removal question 200 1986

I have done it both ways and I still find it easier if you loosen the cross member for the tranny and let the tranny hang and take off all the bellhousing bolts, jack the trans back up and tighten the cross member. Remove both radiator hoses and the two heater hoses at the firewall. Remove the bottom plate and remove the torque converter bolts, remove the motor mount bolts,remove the 3 exhaust bolts, remove the fan and shroud, while your back on top suck out the freon, remove the wire harness from the FPRelay, spark computer and main computer and pull through the firewall, dissconnect the "O2" sensor wires, dissconnect the crank angle sensor, dissconnect the vacuum line to the booster, take off the bracket for the trans tv cable, dissconect the acc.cable and trans cable, dissconnect the 8 prong connector in back, remove the powersteering pump, remove the mass air flow sensor and snorkle and now that the system is drained of freaon remove both hoses to a/c compressor and the wire, dissconnect the ground wire and the starter + wire and the ground at valve cover, remove the wires to your coil and the igniter if you have them, the #10 wire to the battery cable and the grey conn. by the coil. Now you are ready to pull the engine out. Use a jack with a piece of wood between pan and jack to hold up the transmission. Don't rush the job and the engine will be out before you know it.
