white cap to bosch conversion for a k-jet 240 200 1982

I'm looking to to replace my my white cap distributor with a bosch distributor from the junkyard so that I can run a cheaper impulse sender. The whitecap hall sender I have is shot and runs about $150 as opposed to about $50-60 for the the bosch sender. Can i use any year 240 bosch dizzy? Also; should I retain the whitecap ignition coil, or should I use a different coil? My thoughts are it's cheaper to run a bosch distributor than maintain the more expensive whitecap system. Anyone been down this road before?
