I tried rapping the starter and solenoid with a broom handle to no avail. I also tried to make contact between the B+30 lug and field winding strap, M, with a heavy shafted screwdriver. Got sparks but no start. The other two suggestions are good ones and I'll try that in the morning. This was a wife rescue mission and she had a schedule to keep, so I had little time to continue other than put her and her accessories into a 245. Thanks for the tips, Randy.
