1992 EGR engine in a 1993 240 200 1993

I just put a 1992 engine in my 1993 240. When completing the wiring harness hook up, I found that the connectors under the dash do not match up, the 93 harness has a long flat connector, the 1992 harness has a square connector. I now understand that the 1992 engine has an EGR system, while the 1993 did not.

So How to proceed? Do I just match up wire colors and splice the 93 connector the 92 harness? I have found a 93 wiring diagram on the web, but have been unable to locate a 92 w EGR wiring diagram.

In the engine compartment I have 3 extra connectors on the 92 harness, what is the best way to determine there function?

I appreciate your advise and insight.

Thanks,

Tom
