Like deja vu all over again.. or hole in my head 200 1983

Seems I just have to do this at least once/year. Buy a new beater of a 240 wagon. This one came to me yesterday, as always, in the sub $500 price range.

Thursday, the AMM went out in my '84 (again), and it's been having trouble starting cold (forgivable, what with nights as cold as 27° below).

She's a good car.

None the less, I can't pass up a stray, and this '83 came along on Craigslist. Supposedly had only 170k miles, but.. come to find out the odometer is out. But I don't think it's got much more, based on a 2004 reciept showing 160k, and the fact that the tires appear to have only about 15k on them, yet they are horribly dry-rotted.. easily 5 or 6 year old tires.

And the clock works.

So I'm guessing sub 200k miles.

I'll surely be seeking advice on power window repairs before long. I think I can handle the other somewhat minor issues (oil leaks, crumbling wiring.. etc) she's got...

I have a good feeling about this one.. but I've been wrong before.
