fuel pressure test 900

Hi,
I'm a little unclear after reading the FAQ about which tool I need to check fuel pressure on my 94 940. Most of the descriptions of home-made tools don't seem to mention the schraeder valve on my fuel system--I'm wondering if these are only on the later models. If I have these can I use a normal fuel pressure test kit like the kind available inexpensively online?

My main fuel pump is making a noise again. Previously when it made this noise I discovered the in-tank unit was dead, so I replaced it and the noise stopped. Now, the noise is back, so I think that the main unit may be reaching its premature death (after pumping for quite some time without the help of the sender). Is it sensible to check the pressure to see if it is providing enough, or should I just replace it as preventative maintenance? The engine seems to run well though when I first turn it on it wants to stall a bit...takes about 45 seconds for this to go away.
