What engines will fit? 200

Back in '95 I installed a '92 Ford 5.0 HO in my 1982 GLT, using the T-5 five speed. Transformed the car - easy to drive, fast, and got about the same fuel mileage as the auto B23E that came out. The engine fit so well it was like Volvo designed the car for it. Still miss it.
The Ford has the advantage of small size and lighter weight. The Chev GEN 1 engines are great, but bigger and heavier, which doesn't help traction. The Chev to avoid is the mid- nineties LT-1 - absolute pile of crap. Had one of those in a '94 Camaro...even GM didn't like the engine.
