M46 backup lights don't use a switch on the shifter

The switch on the shifter 80 and earlier was for the overdrive, not the backup lights. Just as unlawful as your dash mounted workaround, would be a reversing light switch operated by your thumb on the shifter.

Goatman's photo of the M45 is the same as what my Bentley Art shows on the M46.
